Whatever happened to Justice? What happened to the term "innocent until proven guilty" and the rights to the people under the U.S. Constitution? Are you willing to stand up for the rights of this Veteran who had her dogs taken from her illegally? She needs all of our help! And so do her dogs. At least her dogs should have been held onto until the trial is over, but that didn't happen. They were sent to rescues illegally, who adopted them out illegally!!! This is a request to help pass a law entitled "Apollo's Law" named after my dog Apollo who was wrongfully taken from myself along with 4 of my other dogs.

The reason for me wanting to get this law passed is to help others who have been accused of a crime that they have not been convicted of so that their pets may be returned to them accordingly and based upon trial.

I also want this law to offer assistance to those who have been wrongfully mistreated by not only shelters, but animal rescues as well. In my case, my dogs were never seized and I had never been convicted of a crime. I am having to fight to get my dogs back and some attorneys have asked for $500/hr to represent me on defending my Constitutional Rights to "due process".

I should not have to pay ANY sort of fee to be defended for something that is written in the Constitution.

My dogs were surrendered to Killeen Animal Control by someone who did not own them. At the time of their surrender, the Killeen Animal Control Authorities never notified me of the impoundment of my pets. They knew that the person who surrendered them was not the owner and also knew who the dogs belonged to.

In turn, Killeen Animal Control told me I could not get my pets back without paying $2,400 and that the rate increases daily and they do not have a payment plan. They did this without a hearing, and without legally obtaining custody through a judge for my dogs. No form of "Due Process" was given in regards to my dogs which are considered property under the law.

They then sent my dogs to rescue organizations who are refusing to return MY DOGS. I want this law to pass and help prosecute those who wrongfully STEAL another person's property. Every person who is arrested is entitled to "due process" and a protection of life, liberty and property as listed in the U.S. Constitution. If anything, our rights to what we are entitled to FEDERALLY need to be defended FREE and at no charge.

These governmental entities and rescue organizations need to be held accountable for their actions just as anyone else.

I still continue my fight for my dogs.
